Commodore 64-based retro VST synth now FREE

UPDATE: it seems like Basic65 is no longer availible as it has disappeared from de la Mancha's website. Give Dream64 by Odo over at KVR a shot--another cool little C64 synth!

I'm going to try to not go overboard with the "FREE" posts...  Who are we kidding? Synthmode loves FREE and so do you, so here's another great find from de la Mancha Plug-ins.

User creates Elektron Octatrack software editor

Most Honorable DAW

Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) promiscuity is a very common thing in this day and age... I'm talking about hopping from DAW to DAW as if it was no big deal.  Having gone through Sony ACID, FruityLoops, Cakewalk (now Sonar), Reason, Cubase, and now Ableton, with a lot of overlapping and back-and-forth, definitely makes you wonder if you've ended up with the "right one".

Behringer BCR-2000

I got the BCR-2000 in September 21st of 2007--It's one of the most versatile MIDI controllers of its time and stands up well to the competition, even now.  I designed the colorful layout you see above to control Native Instruments Traktor, but I have used it to control my DAWs, VSTs, and even vintage hardware samplers.
